Fonthill House is a purpose built care home in St Albans, Hertfordshire with a unique and revolutionary ethos. Family-owned and family-run, we have a passion for care and believe that all our residents deserve the best of everything.

We have set new standards with our care home and home care services, both being rated “Outstanding” by the Care Quality Commission.

Care is at the heart of what makes ‘The Fonthill Difference’. We offer Palliative / End of Life Care, Short and Long Term Care, Recover and Recuperation Care, Care at Home and Care for Younger Adults in St Albans, Hertfordshire.

The whole team at Fonthill House are here to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The nurses lead the clinical team fully supported by the nursing assistants and care assistants. We have a hospitality team, housekeeping team, maintenance team and an activities team.

Everyone is employed for their naturally caring attitude and then fully trained in the “Fonthill way”. Testament to everyone’s dedication and hard work is the high number of thank you cards received.

Included in our holistic approach at Fonthill House, is restaurant quality food prepared by our team of chefs. Everything is freshly prepared each day and we source as much produce as possible from St Albans and the surrounding area.

We work with dietitians and nutritionists to create appetising menus which can be tailor-made for each guest. Freshly caught fish, the finest meats, nutritious smoothies and juices all help to improve well being, health and vitality.

Activities
From wine & canapés at 400ft to playing piano at the Ritz, Fonthill House goes the extra mile to ensure our residents enjoy their stay. A trip to the London Eye, tea at the Ritz, weekly drinks at St Michael’s Manor — Fonthill House is no ordinary care home. High profile visiting speakers, yoga and art classes are all just part of our full weekly programme of events.

“Never have I seen old people treated with such patient care and love… I was seriously impressed.”
