Care home in Barnes
Viera Gray House care home in Barnes is one of the best residential care homes in the Borough of Richmond. It delivers exceptional residential care and dementia care to the older people of Barnes and the rest of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. The home is fully CQC (Care Quality Commission) compliant. It has been rated “Good” in all categories at their most recent inspection.
Excellent local reputation
Viera Gray House enjoys an excellent reputation for the dignified care. The home delivers care in two separate and self-contained parts of the home. One area provides exceptional specialist dementia care to 20 residents; the other half of the home provides a really positive lifestyle to the 21 older people who need residential care.
Viera Gray House is a comfortable place to live with a large amount of communal spaces that offer variety and choice to the residents. Whether they want to enjoy a group activity, spend quiet time with their visitors or enjoy some private time on their own, there is an opportunity to do so. They also have a beautiful “secret garden” which is very peaceful. I is very easy to forget you are in south-west London, seeing the garden is worth the visit alone.
Home cooked food
The menu is full of traditional home cooked food that the residents really enjoy and makes meal times a real highlight of each day. There is also an excellent activity programme which engages the residents. It also keeps the residents active both in mind and body.
Viera Gray House is part of Greensleeves Care – number one care charity in England according to Which? Consumer Association. The majority of the people who meet us want to find out more about what the support of a care charity might mean for them so please read more about Greensleeves Care.

Hi, I am Eleanor, the Manager of Viera Gray House.
I feel it is a wonderful opportunity to be appointed as Manager of the care home where I started my career in health and social care. My aim is to support my colleagues to become well informed in all issues related to our client group.
I am passionate about delivering a high standard of individualised care for our residents by getting to know each one of them, their needs, choices and preferences. This enables the dedicated staff team to provide an excellent service. It also allows us to meet the holistic needs of the residents throughout their stay at Viera Gray House.

Lovely caring old peoples home. They are a charity and put care of their residents before money. Which I find so refreshing compared to some of the other homes I have seen.

My Mother in law has been here for a year. She has dementia and is so happy there. The care is superb, it is small and spotlessly clean. They really care for their patients and show them great respect. The manager Andy is a treasure and we only have to mention a concern and it is dealt with. Very nicely maintained with a well maintained garden to sit out in summer
They do a lot for their patients, musical evenings, chats , entertainment, fitness classes and have good food which seems to be offered 24 hours. There is always a cup of tea offered in a china cup if you are visiting.
We think we are superbly lucky to have found this home for our Mum and hope it is still there if we ever need it when we are old! Honestly we looked a lot of awful spots and this was a revelation.
