Our stunning, award-winning care home in Portobello, Edinburgh, is one of the top 20 care homes in Scotland.
The dedicated team at Lauder Lodge delivers a full range of personalised care services for older people, ranging from the very best in nursing and residential care, and specialist care for people living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
Lauder Lodge only opened its doors in 2017, so we were delighted to be named in the carehome.co.uk Top 20 Care Home Awards in 2019. These awards highlight the most recommended care homes across the UK. Lauder Lodge was named one of the best in Scotland.
Providing residents with superb food and a high quality dining experience is something the Lauder Lodge team is very passionate about. Our Head Chef, Graham Watson, has many years' experience in the hotel and leisure industry and, since joining us, has been collecting the awards:
In 2018 he won Chef of the Year at the Care UK RCS Stars Awards.
In 2019 he took home the certificate for 'Highly Commended Dessert' at the National Association of Care Catering Awards. He has also reached the finals of the 2019 National Care Awards in the Care Chef category.
From the manager
“I’m a qualified nurse and have worked in a children’s clinic as well as in older people’s care. Joining Lauder Lodge has been very exciting for me: commissioning a new home is a challenge, and the whole team has worked closely together to create a wonderful home from home. I’ve enjoyed getting to know the team in the process, identifying their strengths and using them to everyone’s advantage. I’m enjoying watching the team grow while providing exceptional service and tailored care for every resident. I’m infamous for my sweet tooth, so I particularly enjoy afternoon tea time, when I can spend time with the residents, sharing stories and memories over a cup of tea and, of course, freshly baked goodies! Outside of work, shopping is a guilty pleasure of mine, followed by coffee dates with friends – usually just an excuse to get the biggest cake on display!”
