Our stunning, award-winning care home in Portobello, Edinburgh, is one of the top 20 care homes in Scotland.
The dedicated team at Lauder Lodge delivers a full range of personalised care services for older people, ranging from the very best in nursing and residential care, to short term respite care and specialist care for people living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
Lauder Lodge only opened its doors in 2017, so we were delighted to be named in the carehome.co.uk Top 20 Care Home Awards in 2019. These awards highlight the most recommended care homes across the UK. Lauder Lodge was named one of the best in Scotland.
Providing residents with superb food and a high quality dining experience is something the Lauder Lodge team is very passionate about. Our Head Chef, Graham Watson, has many years' experience in the hotel and leisure industry and, since joining us, has been collecting the awards:

Manager's quote
I joined Lauder Lodge in early 2019. I had worked with another care home provider as a home manager, but I was keen to join Care UK because its core ethos of fulfilling residents’ lives is why I chose a career in care. I’m passionate about delivering quality care to older people and love working with my team to enable residents to enjoy meaningful experiences every day, and enhance their lives.
A highlight for me of any day is having the chance to walk around the home. It’s a great opportunity to catch up with the people we care for, and to check that colleagues have everything they need. It helps to keep me connected to what’s happening around the home and why we do what we do.
It’s still early days for me at Lauder Lodge, but I’m looking forward to getting to know the residents, their families and my colleagues, and working together to make Lauder Lodge one of the best care homes in Edinburgh – and beyond.
