We’re here to make life easier, more settled and altogether better.

A real home has as much personality as the people who live there. That’s why we’ve made Colinton a place you’d be proud of and happy to live in – just as you would your own home.

Set in large, landscaped grounds, Colinton Care Home is a beautiful secluded retreat in the suburbs of Edinburgh. We are delighted to announce we recently completed a major programme of refurbishment and improvements, which have made a huge difference to life here. For more information on the renovations, click here.

We offer brighterkind care – a person-centred approach that is delivered through quality care, recreation and activities, and food and dining. Our warm and inviting residence provides the comforts of home with 24-hour support.

Colinton is one of brighterkind's top 10 scoring homes in our 2018 residents and relatives satisfaction survey. 100% of Residents and relatives were satisfied with the overall care they received and on average rated the home as 9 out of 10 across a range of questions covering every aspect of life in the home.

brighterkind has been awarded 'Residential Care Provider of the year 2017'. Judges described our ‘Magic Moments’ and ‘Wishing Well’ activities as 'inspirational'.

This is a very good home. It's clean, doesn't smell, the facilities are good, the staff do a lot for the residents, the food's good. The bad press they had before was my mother causing them a lot of trouble.
