We are a small family-run home of 15 single bedrooms and our core values are based around recognising that it is, first and foremost, the home of all the Residents.
With staff providing support and care, we always respect that we are visiting the Residents’ home, rather than Residents living in a workplace.

We provide a warm, homely and caring environment to ensure that each Resident feels secure, happy and safe in the knowledge that well trained, caring and friendly staff are there to enable each Resident to live a happy and fulfilled life.

We offer home-made meals, with all food sourced as locally as possible. Meat is from a local butcher, eggs are free range delivered to our door and our fruit and veg is from a local green grocer.
Nutrition and Hydration is so important for everyone, but especially for the elderly. Everyone is given choice of meals and drinks. There is no food budget and any requests for food not normally stocked are then put on the weekly shopping list.

Each resident is treated as an individual; go to bed and get up at their choosing; breakfast time at anytime; monthly GP visits to review medication and health; daily activities and support of hobbies and interests; support to enable independence as much as possible with the safety and knowledge that trained staff are there to assist.

“Wallfield House is a very homely care home where everyone who lives and works here regard each other as part of their extended family. Every member of staff understands that working to support and care for each individual resident means that they are coming to work in their home and the residents are not living in a workplace. This year everyone has faced challenging times and the dedication and support the staff have provided for everyone living at Wallfield has been fantastic. The residents have all been happy and entertained and we have ensured that every resident has been enabled to maintain very regular contact with their loved ones as safely as possible. The residents' emotional well-being is as important as their physical health. We have excellent infection control with regular contact and support if needed from the Infection Control team linked to PHE, to ensure that we are doing everything we possibly can to keep the residents and staff as safe as possible. We recognise that moving to a care home, or choosing a care home for a loved one, can be daunting and worrying. I am always happy to spend time talking and answering any questions regarding taking this step. I usually suggest that a short stay initially is a good starting point and treat is as a holiday to ensure that Wallfield is right for you. ”
