This place was horrible to work for, I only lasted three weeks before I walked. Whitnessed some night staff and day staff throw elderly end of life residents around instead of using certain safety equipment, hurting and harming resident's. It felt like a prison system more than a loving care home. When I reported the incident the manager ignored it. When I left I kept getting spamming requests on indeed to work for them. They wouldn't leave me alone. Horrible place would not recommend.

Cavell Court is a purpose built care home, unlike so many others our family viewed before choosing this one, and which, in our view stood head and shoulders above the rest.

The staff, facilities, and nursing care are excellent.

Uniquely amongst the ones we looked at, Cavelle Court has dedicated areas for those with dementia, those needing respite care, those requiring end of life nursing care provided by qualified nurses and care assistants, and for those residents who simply need a care home.

The individual residents rooms are spacious, with a large ensuite toilet and shower, a fitted wardrobe, and have several draw units. A wall mounted TV is also provided.

Their Lifestyle Team engage with the residents to give them enrichment with activities based upon each residents capabilities and wishes.

There is a cafe on the ground floor for residents and their visitors, together with a purpose built cinema, and hairdressers.

There is also a beautifully maintained and resident friendly enclosed and secure garden, which both the residents and their families can enjoy.

Yet, with all these facilities and care resources, the costs are comparable with other care homes we looked at.

We looked at five care homes for my ageing Mum before settling on this one, and to be honest it was a bit of a no-brainer, mostly on account of the incredibly friendly, engaging staff. She has now been resident there for four weeks and we are happier than ever that we made the right decision. I could go into more detail, but to anyone who might be sceptical due to the negative reviews here I would simply say: go and look at Cavell for yourself, and form your own opinion.

Cauliflower soup, Baked potato and baked beans - hardly seems a nutritious meal for £1,000+ per week / more like school dinners!

Worst home I've ever visited, relative was treated really poorly, wore clothes that were covered in food stains for days, no encouragement to go down to activities, staff weren't friendly and never spoke and the manager was disgraceful didn't even ask us any questions about my relative e.g likes and dislikes, time she gets up, allergies. Please don't send your relative here especially as it costs over £1000 and they do nothing.
