Our Hendon care home offers a warm, family atmosphere and skilled, personalised care.

At Elmstead House, we work in partnership with Barnet Clinical Commissioning Group to provide personalised nursing and residential care for up to 50 older people from the local area who are living with dementia or other complex mental or physical health needs. Our compassionate team also offers sensitive and supportive end of life care.

The home has eight suites – small collections of bedrooms with a lounge and dining room. This creates an intimate, supportive atmosphere where your loved one will feel safe and secure. Elmstead House also has a hair salon, a sensory room and a cinema, so your loved one can continue to enjoy a varied and interesting lifestyle. Outside, our secure, landscaped gardens and courtyards are popular with residents on warmer days. Keen gardeners are welcome to help keep everywhere looking good.

From the manager

“I joined Care UK in 2017. I’d been a Home manager since 1999 but I was keen to continue developing in that role, and Care UK is a great place to progress and learn. No two days are the same when you’re a Home Manager. In other roles I’ve implemented Namaste projects in different care homes and that’s something Care UK is rolling out in 2020 and beyond, which will be exciting. I’m also enjoying creating a busy community feel at Elmstead House because it benefits residents, relatives and colleagues. We’re looking to create more areas in the home for meaningful engagement, and we’re planning an exciting garden project which will involve rescue chickens! It’s all designed to make residents happy and to give them purpose. If they’re happy, relatives are happy and the team are happy too. Outside of work my three grandchildren keep me busy, as does my rescue dog, Archie. I like to meditate when I can as it helps me to unwind.”
