As manager of Latham Lodge, I lead my professional care team in delivering the highest level of residential and nursing care for up to 37 residents.
With 30 years’ experience as a mental health nurse, the latter 15 years were in a management role. I have managed community, day hospital and specialist mental health teams within the National Health Service (NHS) in my career to date.
I have also been a trainer for mental health, an investigating officer for complaints, as well as managed nursing homes in the private sector. More recently I have been area manager for a small private company of nursing and residential homes.
I enjoy a challenge and love to support colleagues to develop their full potential, which improves job satisfaction whilst ensuring the best quality care for residents.
I am very much a people person, and use the skills I have gained throughout my career to promote and support well-being for all. Listening to others is essential to ensure people feel valued – staff, visitors to the home and most importantly residents in our care.
I am passionate about ensuring all that can be done, is done, to ensure everyone within our home has the best possible care we can give, they are treated with dignity and respect, and I believe that engaging with other professionals to promote and support residents’ needs, whatever they may be, is important. I will work to ensure that our good work at Latham Lodge continues.

We moved our mum to Lathem lodge 16 months ago after a bad experience in another nursing home and we are so pleased we chose this one" they are so caring and friendly, They treat all the residents and each other with the up most respect. The nursing staff are are angels" and the food is fantastic. Mum had lost so much weight in her previous place, but she is now a very healthy size" in fact she moans about how much food is on offer. Every time I visit mum she is usually down in the activity room playing games or having her hair done with the visiting hair dresser. They also have visiting entertainment which are very good too. Mum loves it there and has become very fond of all the lovely staff .
