The Mount House is set in one and a half acres of delightful, well-stocked gardens in a premier residential area in Shrewsbury. Overlooking the River Severn yet only half a mile from the hustle and bustle of the town centre, The Mount House provides a wonderful warm and homely setting for older people requiring residential support and for those requiring dementia or nursing care. From the moment you enter The Mount House you will feel the warmth that characterises our experienced team of carers and nurses and be comforted by a genuine family atmosphere.

Our lively social and activities programme ensures that this is a vibrant place to live.

All of the bedrooms at The Mount House have en-suite facilities affording comfort and privacy, and many boast views of the garden or the West Midland show ground. Residents are encouraged to bring their own furniture and personalise their room to make it their own. Our maintenance team are more than happy to help with hanging your favourite pictures on the walls!

We are very proud of our home and we would welcome the opportunity to show you around The Mount House so please do call us to arrange a visit.

From the manager

“My name is Michelle and I am the General Manager here. I qualified as an RGN in 2009, following a long career with the NHS. I am originally from Yorkshire, and I relocated to Shropshire in 2014, which is when I made the decision to leave the NHS after 17 years of service and steer my career towards the independent sector. I worked for Barchester from 2015 to 2016 as a Deputy Manager at one of our sister homes, but due to personal commitments, I had to find a job that allowed me to work closer to home. I then secured a position as General Manager with another company, leading a home that was initially rated as 'Inadequate' by the CQC to achieve an all round 'Good' rating after 19 months. I am very passionate about the delivery of high quality care and I like to empower team members to progress in their careers and to achieve their individual potentials. I have an open door policy for all residents, staff and visitors, so feel free to pop in.”
