Westlands provides long term residential care and short term respite care for people living with dementia, as well as older people with long term physical conditions.
Designed as three separate households, the ground floor provides a home for 19 people, while the lower ground floor houses 12 people with easy ground-floor access, and the top floor is home to 10 people, accessed by a lift. Each household has a living area with a lounge, dining area and kitchenette, where residents and visitors socialise, and you'll often find our regular exercise classes and activities happening here.
People can make their own snacks and drinks in the kitchenette, and staff are always happy to help with preparing hot refreshments. The central, welcoming cafe is also a hub of activity where people meet over drinks and freshly made cakes.
Outside the house, our secure gardens have seated areas, lawn and bedding areas with a range of plants and raised beds, which our green-fingered residents enjoy tending to. Westlands also has a beauty salon offering unisex hairdressing and manicures.
The Memory Maker, our minibus, takes residents on local trips every month. Two wheelchairs can be accommodated on each trip and relatives can join in too.
Volunteers from The Gift of Years Rugby visit the home regularly to provide regular services of worship, befriending, singing groups and one-to-one activities.
