Fairfield provides day care, long-term residential care and short-term respite care for older people and people living with a dementia. Fairfield has been designed as three separate households on either the ground floor with easy access, or the top floor, accessed via a lift. Each household has a living area with a lounge, dining area and kitchenette where people can make their own snacks and drinks or get a bit of help from staff to prepare hot refreshments.
The open living area is a central hub for each household where people like to get together and socialise with other residents, family, and friends. You’ll often find our regular Oomph! exercise classes or activities happening in the living area – or we might be outside, making the most of our garden which has seating areas, planted spaces and pleasant views. We’ve also introduced one of our side-by-side bikes and have a dedicated cycle path in the garden, giving residents, family, and friends a new way to spend time together outdoors.
For those who like to contribute to the garden, there’s a greenhouse and garden shed, and we’ll soon be adding a chicken coop, adding eggs to the fresh fruit and vegetables that residents and staff grow and use in our kitchen. There’s also a variety of small pets and birds, looked after and enjoyed by everyone in the home. We have a beauty salon offering unisex hairdressing and manicures.
