Set in the scenic beauty of Royal Deeside, near Banchory in Aberdeenshire, Inchmarlo Retirement Village comprises a luxury care home and homes for sale and within a 100-acre garden paradise.

At the heart of the village is Inchmarlo House - a magnificent listed Georgian mansion, dating back to around 1750, which sits on an elevated south facing position with superb views over the River Dee. The House was transformed into a 52-bed care home in 1987 and regularly receives high grades from the Care Inspectorate.

Inchmarlo House Care Home provides the ideal solution for those who require additional support outwith their own home, from day care to full-time care, for respite care or even care at home. Our services include care, medication, housekeeping, maintenance and meals. Inchmarlo House has both single and double bedrooms, all with en suite facilities. The full care package includes help with washing, dressing and eating if and when required.

A doctor visits Inchmarlo once a week to take care of the residents’ medical needs. Although independence is encouraged, our staff are always on hand to assist with your daily needs.

Full-time Care

Inchmarlo provides full-time care in a homely environment. Your care can be tailored upwards or downwards to meet your needs. Your visitors are always welcome and are invited to join meals and social events.

Respite Care

If you are seeking temporary care, whether recovering from illness or injury, Inchmarlo House can provide you with the finest respite care. Our respite services give you and your family comfort in knowing that all your care needs will be met in a friendly and caring environment.

Day Care

Day care packages are available for those who need that extra bit of help during the day. We aim to give you that much needed peace-of-mind that someone trusted is available around the clock.

Care at Home

Care and nursing services for homeowners on the estate can be delivered in your home on either a short or long-term basis. Such comprehensive support has given many of our homeowners the confidence to continue living in their own home for longer than might be the case elsewhere. Our Care at Home services can be tailored around your individual needs. Our staff are on-call every minute of the day, enabling you to remain independent for as long as is possible.

Personalised Care Plans

Inchmarlo’s Head of Care will be happy to discuss the range of optional assisted living care services which are most suited to your needs. Individually tailored personalised care plan will be created after conversations with yourself, your family and our nursing staff, and will be regularly assessed and updated.

From the manager

“In 1986, we introduced the first continuing care retirement community for the over 55s in Scotland because we believed there was a need for a better way of living for our rapidly ageing population. The 100-acre Inchmarlo Estate, two miles west of Banchory on Royal Deeside in Aberdeenshire, was selected primarily because of its magnificent Georgian mansion and beautiful gardens. Our original intention for Inchmarlo was to create the finest place in Scotland for people to spend their retirement.   If you have not already been, I invite you to visit so you can find out for yourself why The Sunday Times said Inchmarlo was “one of the first and still one of the best in the UK” and the Over 50s Housing Award said Inchmarlo was “The most outstanding continuous care community in the UK.” I hope to welcome you to Inchmarlo someday. ”
