Frequently asked questions – EAP

Care Sourcer have partnered with Health Assured to offer all employees of UK care providers a free Employee Assistance Programme (EAP). We hope that we have answered all of your questions below but if not please get in touch at EAP@caresourcer.com

Who are Care Sourcer?

Care Sourcer provide an entirely free online care matching service for people in need of care, working in close partnership with registered UK care providers. At Care Sourcer, we are transforming the care sector by bringing choice, control and transparency to the market.

What is an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)?

Care Sourcer have partnered with Health Assured, the UK’s largest health and wellbeing network, to provide a free Employee Assistance Programme for all registered care providers and their employees.

An EAP is a confidential employee benefit designed to help individuals deal with personal and professional problems that could be affecting home or work life, health or general wellbeing. The free helpline, mobile app and wellbeing portal is available 24/7, 365 days a year.

Why are Care Sourcer providing this EAP?

The service that Care Sourcer offer to people seeking care would not be possible without care providers. We understand that providers and their employees are on the front line, dedicating their lives to caring for others.

We want to support the health and wellbeing of every care worker, enabling them to provide the very best care while at work. Benefits of the EAP such as reducing stress and sick days will ultimately help relieve the pressure that this causes on care workers, while promoting consistency of care for service users.

How much does the EAP cost? Is it free?

Yes, the EAP is completely free to register for, and free for employees to use. Care Sourcer are providing the programme in collaboration with their investors, Legal & General. There are no obligations to use the EAP once registered.

Who can use the EAP?

The EAP is available for employers, employees and their immediate family, partners or dependants*. We believe that the best way to support you is to support your immediate family as well.

*Immediate family members are defined as spouse/partner and children aged 16 to 24 in full time education, living in the same household.

Are calls confidential?

All calls to the EAP helpline are 100% confidential between the caller and their counsellor or advisor. Exceptions can occur only if there is serious risk of harm to the caller or others.

What can be discussed on the helpline?

Expert consultants and advisors from the Health Assured EAP network are available to give advice and support on matters including, but not limited to:

  • Mental health and anxiety
  • Finance and legal issues
  • Bereavement or loss
  • Medical information
  • Family issues
  • Relationships and marital changes
What is the “online wellbeing portal” and “Health e-Hub app”?

The online wellbeing portal and Health e-Hub app features a range of tools available 24/7, including:

  • Interactive health assessments
  • Fitness and lifestyle advice
  • Personal coaching tools
  • Self help programmes
  • Work life information

We already have a similar programme for employees, why use this one?

That’s great that you already have a programme and see the value in one. Our EAP is also available to you and your employees to complement any current programme, so it’s worth checking whether the Care Sourcer EAP offers something that your current programme doesn’t –  for example, a wellbeing portal and app.

Does my business have to be registered to a regulatory body?

Yes, we ask that any care provider wishing to register for the free EAP is registered to the relevant regulatory body:

  • Care Quality Commission (England)
  • Care Inspectorate (Scotland)
  • The Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (Northern Ireland)
  • Care Inspectorate (Wales)
How long will we have access to the EAP for?

The current plan is for the EAP to made available indefinitely, for as long as we feel it adds value to providers and their employees.

How do I register my business for the EAP?

Care providers can register for free by filling in a short form at caresourcer.com/behind-every-care-worker

Once registration is approved, a welcome email will be sent with the details of how to access the EAP and promote the programme to employees.

How do my employees access the EAP?

The email will include top tips for telling your employees about the EAP and an employee welcome pack will be sent containing posters, leaflets and wallet cards.
