You’ll find Balmoral Care Home situated in the heart of South Yorkshire. We are only a short car ride away from Sheffield city centre, we also have great transport links, making us easily accessible for visitors to pop-in for a chat.

Our Care team offers many care types, including residential care for people who need a little help with daily tasks, as well as residential dementia care, where we support our residents to maintain their independence and individuality, encouraging social activity and building relationships within the home. We also provide nursing care for those with complex medical needs, and respite care to give family or friends a well-earned break.

Here at Balmoral Care Home, we love to actively encourage residents to take part in all decisions - contributing to everything from the way their room looks, to the therapies they receive.

At our home we have lovely pet budgies, which our residents adore. We also have a sensory garden which has been greatly beneficial to our residents.

My Mum & Dad are both residents at Balmoral. All the staff seem very friendly and caring, in particular Victoria who has been fantastic, video calling, sending picture messages, which is lovely at this difficult time when you can’t visit. My parents look really happy at Balmoral. They have daily activities for residents which is fantastic! Although I’ve not been to see my parents I feel that they are being well cared for and this gives me comfort.

I visit numerous care homes throughout South Yorkshire as an entertainer, Balmoral being one of them. I have always found the staff to be fully involved in the care and well being of the residents. They are kind and show a knowledge of each individuals needs. My auntie was in fact a resident at Balmoral and the family were very happy with the care and compassion given to her during her stay and during her final days.

On initially picking this home for my nan it was a good care home but due changes in management and a roundabout effect with staff care has plummeted. The dementia unit care is below poor due to been under staff and under educated on dementia care. Heart breaking that a good home has gone under due to poor management

My mum (regrettably) spent her last few months in here. Admittedly she was stubborn, difficult and, at times, just plain horrible but that's how mental illness and anxiety manifests sometimes ..I thought staff would know that. She was so unhappy.
We made sure she had a visitor every day and at each visit she was wearing someone else's clothes, despite the fact that we had bought name tags and fastened them in all her belongings. The worst part of it was she knew they weren't her clothes she was wearing...so upsetting. On more than one occasion I walked the corridor and saw some random person wearing my mum's cardigan or dress or skirt. In the end we took turns at doing her laundry ourselves. She was plonked in front of the the tv day after day for hours ...under stimulated and seemingly ignored.
It's been a year since my mum passed and it's taken me that time to be able to write this. I'm hoping in that time things have improved somewhat. If you are thinking of going there pay them a random visit, don't ring ahead to inform them that you're going. Just keep an eye on your loved ones.
