From the manager

“I qualified as a Nurse in Portugal in 2010, and my first care job in the UK was for Care UK. I left after five years to progress my career, but I decided to return because I believe in Care UK’s values and commitment to caring for residents. Care UK is the best place I have ever worked. The support provided to colleagues is fantastic. Providing care is about being passionate and committed. As Home Manager, I believe it’s important to listen to and support residents, relatives and colleagues in the home on a day-to-day basis. I work hard to make a difference in their lives. I am very proud of the culture that I’ve created in Mills Meadow. Hearing the positive feedback from residents, relatives and team members and seeing residents smiling and happy makes me proud of what I do. The safety and wellbeing of the residents living in Mills Meadow is of the utmost importance to me, and ensuring all procedures are followed is an important part of my role. My favourite part of the day is walking around the home every morning to talk to each resident and team member. When I’m not working, I love to spend time with my family. I enjoy time in the garden and do DIY at home.”
